Speaking about Ashling, An Cathaoirleach said:
On behalf of the people of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, I want to extend my very deepest sympathies to the parents, brother and sister, family, friends and colleagues of Ashling Murphy. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew Ashling, including her young pupils and her local community. As a wider community and as a country we are shocked and saddened by this unimaginable act of violence towards a wonderful young woman.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
A vigil for Ashling will be held at the People’s Park, Dún Laoghaire on Saturday 15th at 4pm.
