There will be a small reduction in the number of parking spaces available in these areas. On Carysfort Avenue, parking on the west side will be removed and parking on the east side from Convent Road to Avondale Lawn will remain. On Cross Avenue, Pay and Display parking at the Booterstown end of Cross Avenue will be removed and four indented parking bays will remain. On Newtownpark Avenue, no parking will be permitted on the west or east side.
These cycle tracks are being installed on a trial basis with an aim to:
- Provide segregation for cyclists on school routes
- Improve the safety and well-being of those cycling to school, work or recreationally in the area
- Improve the air quality in these areas
- Reduce noise levels in these areas
