Update: Temporary bathing prohibition notice extended to 1500 Mon 12 August
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have taken the decision to extended the temporary prohibition notice for all dlr Bathing areas from 1800 Saturday 10 August to 1500 Monday 12 August, due to waste water overflows from Irish Waters treatment network early Friday 9 August.
This decision has been taken pending test results from Friday 9 August and also as the weather forecast for the weekend is for more rain there could be a possibility of more overflows.
Testing of water quality was undertaken early Friday. We will continue to assess the risk to water quality based on test results and information provided by Irish Water. Bathing water results will be published here. Water testing results are available approximately two days after sampling.
Written notices are in place at all dlr bathing locations.
