His most recent exhibition Dreaming Different Dreams was held in The Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin in March 2020; and in 2018, he wrote and performed a one man spoken word show My Magnetic North at The Project, Dublin. Recent group exhibitions include Joyce In Art, MHKA Antwerp 2018; Post Picturesque, Photographing Ireland, Perlman Museum Minnesota, USA 2017; 2116: Forecast of the Next Century, Glucksman Gallery Cork and Broad Museum, Michigan State University 2016; Second Look, David Kronn Collection, IMMA Dublin 2014.

The exhibition opens on Saturday 24 July and runs until Sunday 26 September 2021 at the Municipal Gallery, dlr Lexicon, Dún Laoghaire. Gary Coyle was awarded the Visual Art Commission 2021 for this exhibition which is funded by the Arts Council and produced by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Coyle is represented by Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin.
