We invite current hosts and anyone interested in hosting to join us for an evening of celebration and information-sharing on what it's like to host displaced Ukrainians and how to go about it. Part of a nationwide Roadshow series, this event will take place at County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday 24 May at 7pm.
The evening will be hosted by TV and radio broadcaster Mary Kennedy, who will be joined by local host families and their Ukrainian guests, Angie Gough from Helping Irish Hosts and expert partners from the Irish Red Cross, The Open Community, Ukrainian Action and the Irish Refugee Council.
Helping Irish Hosts Co-Founder and CEO Angie Gough says,
There are now over 5,000 host homes in Ireland, accommodating more than 10,000 displaced people . Helping Irish Hosts are here to help set hosts up with all the tools you need to host in your home. All are welcome to this event; if you are currently hosting, please come along to share your experience.”
