Intro Text

Are you part of a local group, business or an individual with an interest in Ireland’s marine areas?   You may have information and ideas that can help shape the future of Marine Spatial Planning!

Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) is a new way of looking at how we use the marine area, and planning how best to use it into the future. A report on Marine Spatial Planning was published this week by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government.

*There will be an information night at St Laurence’s, DIT Grangegorman, Dublin: Tuesday, October 23rd, 9.30am-12.30pm. To book, please click here *

Ireland's first Marine Spatial Plan will be prepared over the next few years for finalisation and submission to government in 2020.  By taking part in the marine planning process you can influence the decisions being made about the marine spatial plan. The plan will influence future planning & development of dlr's marine environment in areas including sports and recreation, bathing water quality, nature conservation, biodiversity protection, management of marine litter, coastal erosion, wastewater treatment and disposal, tourism and the development of ports.

Have your say on how our marine area is managed and developed into the future. Submissions are being accepted up until December 14th 2018. More information can be found here
