In partnership with Rosemount School and Coláiste Eoin/Íosagáin, dlr have opened All Weather pitches in line with their Sports Facility Strategy. The aim of the strategy is to provide facilities for sport and physical activity that are well maintained, sufficient in number, and accessible to as many local people as possible.

An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Mary Hanafin, said:

“Sports and physical activity are an important part of the daily lives of our citizens here in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Our aim is to provide sports facilities to as many local people as possible. We want to enable participation from all age groups across a diverse range of sports. Theses pitches are the first of a number of facilities planned for the County over the coming years.”

Frank Curran, Chief Executive of dlr said:

I am delighted that we have delivered on the All Weather Pitches for Rosemount School and Coláiste Eoin/Íosagáin which is part of our overall Sports Facility Strategy to increase sports and playing facilities in the next few years. These pitches will provide sporting facilities for the school and for the wider community.

dlr’s focus is to provide facilities that will enable participation by as wide a cross section of the population, across a diverse range of sports and do this through relationships and interactions with local sporting clubs, regional and national sporting organisations, schools, community groups and dlr Leisure.
