Cruinniú na nÓg aims to celebrate and encourage children and young people's participation in culture and creativity through child-centred events which are free and provide opportunities for young people to get doing, making and creating. This year’s festival is programmed and produced by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Arts Office. The programme is the creative hard work of cultural partners, dlr arts organisations, local artists and most importantly, the children and young people of the County.
An Cathaoirleach, Shay Brennan, said “Everything you will need for a fantastic day of creativity is available right here in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. We have a jam-packed programme for you to enjoy from home, with workshops in creative writing, puppetry, musical theatre, and dance, among others. We have theatre and music performances by young people of the County as well as youth film screenings! Púca's Wonder Puppets is inviting children with Autism or Aspergers age 6-9 to a virtual playful encounter with their family.”
Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme at the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and is presented in partnership with RTÉ and the Local Authorities.
