Irish Citizenship Celebration

An Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Tom Murphy, extended a Céad Míle Fáilte to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown’s newest Irish citizens at an event on Tuesday 10th October 2017.


The event was part of the dlr Festival of Inclusion and was organised in conjunction with the DLR Ethnic Minority Integration Forum to celebrate those who have been granted Irish Citizenship and live in the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. 

Speaking at the event, An Cathaoirleach Cllr. Tom Murphy thanked the new Irish citizens for making a contribution to their communities and for making Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown their home. At the event, the new Irish Citizens were presented with a painting from a local artist, Heather McKay.

Among participants and invited guests were representatives of the Azerbaijan, Indian, Nigerian and Iraqi communities as well as Africa Centre, Human Appeal Ireland, New Communities Partnership, Women4Women and DLR Public Participation Network as well as Elected Members of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
