Intro Text

dlr Architects Department are delighted to be involved with the Open House Festival again this year, opening to the public some of our extensive catalogue of work. The theme for Open House Dublin 2018 is Tomorrow’s Past: Discover our future heritage and for the first time, the festival programme will feature a building for every decade from 1700 up to present day. Open House Dublin is Ireland’s largest architecture festival.

In this the thirteenth year of the festival we are showcasing some of our new works completed in the last 12 months. Tours of George's Place in Dun Laoghaire town, 12 new rapid delivery highly energy efficient social housing units, will inform you of the creation of a new city street and the potential to deliver high quality design under rapid build conditions. A new piece of design sited within the existing County Hall building aimed at enhancing local democracy is also open for tours. Come in and see the new public waiting and service interaction spaces, with its light open design incorporating private breakout meeting spaces alongside open glazed links to the new bright open Council Chambers. Enjoy a walk through the historic grounds of Fernhill and receive a guided tour to understand the work done to date and future plans to upgrade the site to a regional park level.

All tours are free and more information on each can be found here.
