dlr Ethnic Minority Integration Forum Launch New Brochure

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Ethnic Minority Integration Forum have launched a membership brochure for New Irish communities in the County encouraging them to join the Forum and contribute towards better integration.

According to the last 2016 Census, 24, 426 newcomers came to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and made it their home. Among them are people from other European countries and other continents. This new brochure has been developed to encourage them to get involved with their local communities.

The Forum’s work so far includes initiatives promoting active civic participation of migrants and naturalised Irish citizens living in the County, and organisation of events, educational projects promoting local integration aimed at encouraging members of New Irish communities to learn more about Ireland and their local Dún Laoghaire and Dundurm area.


Speaking at the launch, DLR Social Inclusion Officer Joe Connor said: “The aim of the Forum is strengthening integration in the county and we hope that the new brochure will encourage many to join the Forum and actively promote understanding between peoples of diverse backgrounds”.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Ethnic Minority Integration Forum (DLREMIF) is a network of individuals, ethnic minority groups and migrant led organisations based in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County. All its members are volunteers. The Forum is supported by dlrcc and the Southside Partnership.
