Continuing its delivery of Council housing units in 2016, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council today officially opened another development with 15 units of accommodation in Kilternan. Launched this afternoon by An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Cormac Devlin and Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, the development was designed by the Council’s Architects’ Department, providing nine two-bed and six one-bed units in a mix of houses and apartments, alongside two substantially redesigned public spaces at Enniskerry Road and Glenamuck Road.

The use of photovoltaic panels on the apartment block and a BER rating of between A3 and B1 for the units will bring a reduction in carbon emissions and also a reduction in energy bills for the residents.

Speaking at the launch of the Cromlech development in Kilternan, An Cathaoirleach, Cllr Cormac Devlin, said, “I am delighted to be launching yet another high quality Council housing development in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area. Building on strong success in delivering Council housing units in 2016 there are a number of other housing developments coming down the pipeline for 2017. This significant ramping up of the Council’s housing delivery demonstrates its commitment to achieving its targets as set out in its programme 2015 to 2017.”
