In partnership with the three other local authorities in Dublin, the Arts Office of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has been awarded funding of €55,000 under the Arts Council’s Invitation to Collaboration scheme.  The funding will be used to commission new work which places children and young people at the heart of cultural provision in Dublin. The resulting work will tour to venues all over Dublin in 2017.

Announcing the award, Minister for the Arts, Heather Humphreys said
“This scheme is a great example of how Local Authorities can work together to enhance the cultural offering in their own local communities.”

Welcoming news of the award, An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Cllr Cormac Devlin, said,

“I am delighted that the Council has been awarded additional Arts Council funding to provide further opportunities both for artists to create new work, and for local children to explore and enjoy the arts.”

Details of the commission, open to artists locally and internationally, will be launched by the dlr Arts Office in November.
