The dlr Age Well Expo will provide an opportunity to socialise, connect, engage and hear about topics of interest, particularly around the subjects of ageing well, participation, health, security and social activities, over two sessions on the day. Speakers on the day will include Professor Ian Robertson, author of the brilliant and thought-provoking book; ‘How confidence works: The new science of self-belief’ with a talk on Confident Ageing.
Latest research findings on The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) in Ireland will also be presented by Dr Ann Monaghan from TCD and Áine Flynn, Director of the newly launched, Decision Support Service will inform participants on Decision-Making legislation.

Up to 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the event which will run from 10am to 4pm and consists of a large and diverse exhibition space, music and dance performances, talks, cookery demonstrations and presentations along with a networking and café area.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) announced at the end of April 2023 reveal that between 2012 and 2022, Ireland had the third highest percentage increase -10.3 per cent - in ageing population of anywhere in the European Union. The data also highlighted how the nation is ageing rapidly, with the portion of people aged under 45 falling from 65 per cent to 59.8 per cent.
The dlr Age Well Expo will help dispel myths and stereotypes about ageing with people living longer, healthier lives and can look forward to many years of active older age in Ireland. The dlr Age Well Expo will provide an array of information, expertise, latest research findings as well as many activities and opportunities for older people and their families to get involved in social, cultural, community, life-long learning and volunteering activities and to keep fit, well and active.
