Homeless Assessment and Placement Service
If you are homeless, rough sleeping or at risk of becoming homeless and your last permanent address was in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County area you should contact the Assessment and Placement Service.
You can do this by calling to our offices in person at County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire between 10 a.m. and 12 noon or phone 01 2054700 for an appointment. Homeless Services are also available between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for repeat presentations.
If you’re not from the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area you must present yourself to the relevant Local Authority from where you were made homeless.
In the case of an emergency whereby you require a homeless placement outside opening hours, please call the Homeless Helpline Service for assistance on FREEPHONE: 1800 707 707.
Are you renting and worried about losing your home?
If the answer to this question is yes, please contact the Local Authority whose area you currently reside in or the dedicated advice line operated by Threshold, on behalf of the four Dublin Local Authorities, FREEPHONE: 1800 454 454. Through this service you can get advice on:
- Being asked to leave rented accommodation before the lease is up
- Renewing your lease, but being worried about being able to pay
- Landlord selling or re-acquiring the home
- Questions on Social Welfare Allowance, Rent Supplement and Rent Increases after the lease term
We would like you to tell us if you see a person sleeping rough in Dublin.

This service is operated by Dublin’s Housing First Intake Team and the Dublin Region Homeless Executive.The main goal of the service is to move people into temporary accommodation and onto independent living.
