Eloise Gillow is a painter and muralist from the UK, working internationally. Eloise works in a realist style, painting people in moments of pause and connection with the natural world, a connection that is essential in context of the current climate crisis. She creates her imagery from her own experience and that of those around her. She aims to bring attention to those moments when we stop rushing around in the frantic rhythm of modern life, when we are present and feel most alive. She aims to give space to and notice these times, and communicate them through her art. She hopes that in stopping to observe the artwork, the viewer similarly experiences a moment of pause and reflection and is given the space to feel something beyond everyday worries and routines.
