Intro Text

The Grainstore is a beautiful Grade 1 listed building situated in the heart of Cabinteely Park beside the Brambles Café. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council took over programming the building in 2008 and it has continued to evolve into a  vibrant, thriving hive of youth arts activities.

There is a diverse range of classes available for children and young people to sign up and take part in which include, dance, singing, musical theatre, art and coderdojo. Classes run from September to June. Find out more here

Every Wednesday from 6-9pm, Canvas, the Grainstore’s youth arts committee, meets and runs activities for young people aged 13 – 25 years.  Wednesdays are kept free for young people to take over the Grainstore and develop their own creative projects and events. If you are aged 13-25 you are welcome to drop in on a Wednesday to find out about Canvas and all the different projects, workshops and gigs they organise. Find out more here

The building itself includes a multipurpose hall with a sprung floor for dance, exhibitions, and performances etc, a large workshop space, a music rehearsal room, a media room, a recently refurbished state of the art recording studio, a reception area and an office. Spaces are available for rent as long as they are used for youth arts purposes.
