Framing The Senses, Dementia Inclusive Programme 2022

'Framing the Senses' built on ten years of experience of creative programming for and with people living with dementia and local service providers. Funded by Creative Ireland's Creativity in Older Age Programme it benefits people living with dementia, their carers and creates an awareness among the general population about the benefits and positive impacts of creativity for people living with dementia.

As part of Framing the Senses the following strands took place:

• A series of talks exploring dementia and creativity in dlr LexIcon.
• A Multisensory Art Programme on site in 2 local residential care settings for older people.
• A free and interactive programme of activities for carers of people living with dementia in local libraries.
• Research into the impacts of an arts-based multisensory approach to working with people with dementia.

The series of talks co-ordinated by the Global Brain Health Institute took place in dlr LexIcon celebrating creativity and dementia. These awareness talks highlighted the impact and benefit of creativity in the lives of people with dementia. More details here
