dlr and the 1916 Rising: An Exhibition
Former Protestant Chapel, Deansgrange Cemetery
Curated by historian Conor Dodd this specially produced exhibition will tell the story of the 1916 Rising using the people and personal experiences of those associated with the area now covered by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. There were over 170 people from this area who were involved in the Rising. They range from two of the executed, Sir Roger Casement and Major John MacBride to those who played less well known but also significant parts in the Rising. The exhibition will be located in Deansgrange Cemetery, where over 100 people involved in the Rising are buried. Organised by dlr County Council.
Is é an staraí, Conor Dodd, coimeádaí an taispeántais seo a cuireadh le chéile go sainchuspóireach agus a inseoidh scéal Éirí Amach 1916 agus na daoine agus na heispéiris phearsanta á n-úsáid a bhain leis an gceantar atá cumhdaithe anois ag Dún Laoghaire-Ráth an Dúin. Bhí baint ag os cionn 170 duine ón gceantar seo san Éirí Amach. Ina measc, tá beirt díobh siúd a cuireadh chun báis, Sir Roger Casement agus an Major John MacBride, agus iad siúd a ghlac páirteanna san Éirí Amach nach bhfuil an oiread céanna cur amach orthu ach ar bhain tábhacht leo mar sin féin. Beidh an taispeántas seo lonnaithe i Reilig Ghráinseach an Déin, áit a bhfuil os cionn 100 duine a raibh baint acu leis an Éirí Amach curtha. Eagraithe ag Comhairle Contae DL-RD.
