Towards a Creative Dún Laoghaire

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and IADT were awarded funding under the Creative Communities Economic Action Fund.  This new initiative, under the auspices of Creative Ireland, provides local authorities with resources to develop innovative projects which seek to leverage the potential of the creative industries in supporting local and regional economic development. The research and findings are outlined in a final report which was published in December 2022.

The project, Towards a Creative Dún Laoghaire, saw the County Council partner with the Public Design Lab at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT). The partners researched and explored ways of forging closer cooperation and embedding a presence for IADT in Dún Laoghaire Town. They worked closely with a range of key local stakeholders to examine ways to enable IADT graduates and other creatives to stay working within the Dún Laoghaire Town, and the wider County.

Towards a Creative Dún Laoghaire took place from June to November 2022. The Project Team combined expertise from dlr Arts Office and Economic Development Unit, along with the Public Design Lab, IADT.
