PROPOSED VARIATION NO. 9 OF THE DÚN LAOGHAIRE-RATHDOWN COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN, 2010-2016
Addition of New ‘Permitted in Principle’ Uses to Table 18.4 : Zoning Objective ‘B’ : Relating Solely and Exclusively to the Site of Specific Local Objective No. 97 (Map 5) – Retirement Village at Ticknock
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 13 (2) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, being the Planning Authority of the County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, has prepared a draft of proposed Variation No. 9 of the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan, 2010-2016 to include the Addition of New ‘Permitted in Principle’ Uses to Table 18.4 : Zoning Objective ‘B’ : Relating Solely and Exclusively to the Site of Specific Local Objective No. 97 (Map 5) – Retirement Village at Ticknock to the County Development Plan by way of Statutory Variation and accordingly to make amendments to the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan, 2010-2016.
The reason for the Variation is to regularise inconsistencies between (i) the development objectives promoted under Specific Local Objective (SLO) No. 97 – Ticknock Retirement Village, and (ii) the land uses currently either ‘Permitted in Principle’ or ‘Open for Consideration’ under Zoning Objective ‘B’, ‘To protect and improve rural amenity and to provide for the development of agriculture’ as set out in Table 18.4 of the 2010-2016 County Development Plan.
The Variation consists of the following documentation:
Variation No. 9 Strategic Environmental Assessment Appropriate Assessment
In complying with the Strategic Environment Assessment Directive (2001/42/EC) and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations, 2004, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment is not required. It has also been determined that an Appropriate Assessment pursuant to Article 6 (3) and (4) of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC is not required.
Details of the proposed Variation and the Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports may be inspected at the following locations:

Copies of the documentation may be obtained from the Planning Department, County Hall (10.00a.m - 4.00p.m) or the Council Offices, Dundrum Office Park, during the above opening hours.
Two public information sessions will be held in respect of Proposed Variation No. 9 on:
Thursday 27th September 2012 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm at the Concourse, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co.Dublin
Wednesday 3rd October 2012 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm at the Dundrum Council Office, Dundrum Office Park, Off Main Street, Dundrum.
Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Variation made to the Planning Authority within the said period will be taken into consideration before the making of the Variation. Such submissions or observations should be marked "Variation No. 9" and addressed to:
