YOUR LIBRARY
Come and join the Library?
We would like to meet you.
Your Mum or Dad will need to bring you to
the Library. It is free to join.
The Library is great fun with lots of new
books, some lovely new CDs and DVDs.
You can bring them home on loan. You
may keep the books, CDs or DVDs for three
weeks and renew them again if nobody else
wants them. Fines are charged if you are
late bringing the books back to the library
so you have to watch your return date.
You may also use the Internet in the library and it is free. Mum or Dad will have to come
with you.
Do you need help with a school project?
The Library can help you with information
and your teacher may also bring you on a
visit. Sometimes during the year we have
exciting events and your school may come
and join in. We also have arts & crafts from
time to time and you can take part. Some of
the libraries have scrabble clubs and chess
clubs so ask the staff if you want to play.
Do you live near a library?
We have nine libraries in Dún Laoghaire
Rathdown, in Blackrock, Cabinteely, Dalkey,
Deansgrange, Dún Laoghaire, Dundrum,
Sallynoggin, Shankill and Stillorgan.
During the Year watch out for:
> Summer Events – Lots of arts & crafts,
puppet shows, games and competitions.
> Children’s Book Festival – In October
there are lots of activities on books and
reading, it is great fun!
> Science Week – In November we have
Science Week and it is really exciting
with lots of fun things to do.
> Féile Filíochta – If you write poetry
we would like to hear from you. Your
teacher may help you to enter the
competition.
