We are the first Dublin Local Authority to reach full compliance with ISO50001 Energy Management System for our full corporate energy load
Domestic PV + Battery Trial - using a new infill site family home within DLR's Social Housing Stock, the project links the roof photovoltaics PVs (solar panels which use the sun's energy to convert into electrical use within the home) to energy storage batteries (see photo above). Currently Ireland's Electrical Grid does not have a domestic feed-in tariff, which means that any electricity generated on-site cannot be fed back into the grid. TO help mitigate against fuel poverty and enhance the use of the renewable PV, dlr Energy Team + the Housing Department +Solo-Energy are trialling this pilot project. Storing PV electrical energy in excess of the on-site demand within the battery + tying in the house to a cheaper night-time electrical tariff to allow the battery to be further topped up where required. This project has a continuous post occupancy analysis being carried out by our project partner Solo-Energy. All evaluations will be fed back to the dlr Energy Team to allow for evidence-based future implementation.
Energy Bills Platform - Energy Elephant, use of this platform is linked to all DLR's big energy users within the corporate building stock. It is linked to monthly meter readings which help generate 'accurate' bills and energy usage to facilitate good energy management. The system helps generate reports to aid energy review and management. See site map above with some of the buildings currently linked to the Energy Elephant bills platform.
