Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival

Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival takes place in Dun Laoghaire every March. It honours the unique and enviable literary heritage of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown by providing opportunities for the public to hear the very best of Irish and international writers. Literary fiction is at the heart of the festival but events cover an array of genres including a family and schools strand and a dedicated poetry programme. The aim of the festival is to engage the public with a quality literary event that has at its core the meaningful engagement between author and audience. To go to the Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival website please click here.

In 2017 the festival took place from the 22nd – 26th of March throughout Dún Laoghaire. There was a host of fantastic events including authors John Boyne, Chris Cleave and John Banville as well as events focused on politics, history and music. Poetry lovers were well catered for with Michael Longley, Paula Meehan and Nick Laird among the many poets who appeared. And as always the Family & Schools programme offered events for all ages and this year included a true legend of children’s books, Judith Kerr (The Tiger Who Came to Tea).

In 2018 the festival will take place from the 21st to 25th of March with preview events on the 11th of March.
