STRUCTURES AT RISK FUND 2017
The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht have announced a Structures at Risk Fund for 2018 with a total fund available of €1.324m
The purpose of the Structures at Risk Fund (SRF) is to assist with works to safeguard structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended); including works to proposed protected structures, and in certain cases, works to safeguard structures within Architectural Conservation Areas, where, in the opinion of the Department, an urgent need for works to such structures has arisen and has been demonstrated.
Only structures in immediate danger of significant deterioration will qualify for consideration for funding by the Department. In 2018 the Department will consider a maximum of five applications per local authority; four general applications (only 1 of which may be a publicly-owned building) and a fifth application only if it relates to an Irish Historic House in private ownership.
Applications must be submitted for consideration by the deadline of 4 p.m. Wednesday 31st January 2018.
BUILT HERITAGE INVESTMENT SCHEME 2018
The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has announced the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) 2018. This scheme seeks to encourage the leveraging of private capital to invest in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas (ACAs) and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftworkers and tradespeople.
Dún Laogahire-Rathdown County Council has been allocated €50,000. Project supports will range from a minimum of €2,500 to a maximum of €10,000 per application.
Applications must be submitted for consideration by the deadline of Friday 2nd February 2018.
