Community Enhancement Programme is now OPEN for applications for 2018.
This is a NEW Capital Grants Programme and replaces the Community Facilities Scheme and RAPID from 2017.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Community Development Committee is pleased to announce that grant applications are being invited under the national Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) Grants Programme 2018. This is a new scheme with a total budget of €4.5m announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring on the 31st of May 2018. 

The CEP is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by the Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in each Local Authority area.  The total funding allocated for the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown area is €142,108.  This new scheme replaces two former schemes, the RAPID programme and the Community Facilities Scheme from 2017.  The funding allocation represents an increase of €13,108 over the combined funding from the two previous schemes.  

A minimum of 30% of the funding will be ring-fenced for projects costing up to €1,000 with the remaining funding being directed towards larger projects.

Applications are invited for funding for capital projects that target the relevant groups or issues in disadvantaged areas and seek to enhance communities in disadvantaged areas as identified in the DLR Local Economic and Community Plan 2016-2021. Applications should relate to strategic themes in the DLR Local Economic and Community Plan 2016-2021 in order to be eligible for consideration.




The DLR Grant Scheme provides funding for a diverse range of initiatives from Events, Sports and Heritage to Community, Arts and Business Promotion to assist in the Council’s commitment to Creating an Environment for Economic Growth and Driving Quality of Life for All. The County Council seeks to ensure that the limited financial resources available are used to the maximum benefit of the DLR community at large and support in achieving the Council’s objectives.
