At the Council meeting held on Monday 11 January 2016, the Elected Members of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council approved the award of €492,659 in funding to a wide range of local groups and organisations under the dlr Grant Scheme 2016.
From over 340 applications which were received and assessed, 246 have been recommended to receive funding.
The total amount of funding included in the recommendations is €492,659, an increase of €47,000 on last year. The breakdown of funding across the various categories of grant is:
Over €40,000 in Art grants
Over €70,000 in Business Support
Over €120,000 in Community grants
Over €11,000 in Environment grants
Over €130,000 in Event and Festival support
Over €13,000 in Heritage grants
Over €100,000 in Sports grants
Speaking about the decision An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Barry Saul said: “I am very happy that almost half a million euro in funding has been approved under the 2016 Grants Scheme. This is a very significant amount of money and I am proud that the Council has been able to provide this funding for such a diverse range of local groups, organisations and events.”
The full list of recommended applications was presented to the Elected Members at the Council Meeting and will be available on the Council’s website.
All applicants will now be notified by the Council as to whether or not their application was successful.
