Traditional Music Commission
This opportunity is for a traditional music per cent for art commission focusing on the creation of new work. The commission is open to either individuals or collaborators to apply. The commissioners are also open to traditional Irish music practitioners collaborating with practitioners in other traditional artforms (e.g. dance, storytelling). Prior to the submission deadline, the Arts Office will facilitate a briefing session for prospective applicants in dlr LexIcon, with input from the Arts Council. This will take place on Tuesday 17 October at 6.00pm in dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire. Commission with the Grainstore, dlr's Youth Arts Facility
Applications are invited for a commission for the creation of new artwork connected to the Grainstore, dlr’s Youth Arts Facility located at Cabinteely Park. The budget for the commission is €20,000 inclusive. We are looking for an artist(s) or organisation with experience of working collaboratively and a flexible approach towards working with young people. We are open to a broad range of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, film, animation, digital arts, performing arts, sound art. The outcome of the commission must be centred in the Grainstore and there should be scope for the wider public to share in this. In addition there must be some outcome that takes place in the Studio, dlr LexIcon. The selected artist(s) should engage directly with young people from the area. A site visit will take place at 11.00am on Friday 6 October for interested applicants.
