Baths Artist in Residence - Róisín White

Artist Róisín White is our third artist in residence in the Dún Laoghaire Baths from December 2023 - February 2024.

We welcome artist Róisín White who has recently started as the latest artist to have a residency at the newly opened Dún Laoghaire Baths Artist Studios. Róisín will work on her project "Safe Harbour" exploring the topography of DLR and its connection to the built coastline, looking at the natural formations of hills and mountains in the county, and the protective structure and architecture of the harbour and baths. Róisín will announce a selection of public events in the New Year.

Róisín is a visual artist and arts facilitator based in Dublin. She primarily works with photography, with a diverse interest in mixed media sculpture. Her work often stems from found and archival materials, with an interest in folklore and storytelling, both fictional and imagined. She has exhibited her work across Ireland and Europe.

Róisín has worked with children and young people within her visual arts practice for over 10 years, working both collaboratively, and in a facilitation role. She is inspired by the sense of play and curiosity that young people show while making art, and strives to create an environment that gives children the space and confidence to try things out and be led by their own interests. Recent youth-led projects have included working with PhotoIreland, The Ark Children’s Cultural Centre, Greywood Arts/National Space Station in Ireland, and Landskrona Foto in Sweden.
