Sabina McMahon Receives dlr Concourse Award 2012

 

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to announce Sabina Mac Mahon as the recipient of the dlr Concourse Award 2012.

The dlr Concourse Award provides the exhibition space free of charge for three weeks and offers a budget to support the realisation of the exhibition. It aims to support high quality visual art that will provide the public with an opportunity to engage with the arts whilst also supporting the practice of local visual artists. Sabina Mac Mahon’s exhibition will take place in the Concourse in May 2013.

Sabina Mac Mahon lives and works in her native Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. She graduated from NCAD with a first-class joint honours degree in History of Art and Fine Art (Painting) in 2008 and since then her work has featured in numerous group shows in Ireland and abroad. Solo exhibitions have taken place at Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford (2012), Droichead Arts Centre, Louth (2011), Ballina Arts Centre, Mayo (2011) and The Joinery, Dublin (2010). Sabina was selected for the 2011 Artist in Residence Programme at Cow House Studios, Wexford and this autumn she will be exhibiting at Wexford Arts Centre and Monster Truck Gallery, Dublin in association with the award. She completed a residency at The Guesthouse, Cork in January this year, was recently shortlisted for the 2 nd Alliance Française Photography Award and is also working towards an exhibition of new work at Queen Street Studios Gallery, Belfast.
