50 Ways to Leave Dún Laoghaire by Carpet Theatre, was a site-specific performance which took place in Dún Laoghaire Ferry Terminal on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th July 2008, as part of the 'Place and Identity' programme of Per Cent for Art co50 Ways to Leave Dun Laoghaire by Carpet Theatremmissions. Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company generously provided the venue for the performances.

50 Ways to Leave Dún Laoghaire brought the audience to the ferry terminal to catch a phantom ferry. A host of recognisable characters got caught in a pattern of coming and going as Carpet Theatre unpacked the experience of collective travel: security rituals, meetings and partings, tears of joy and despair when the ship comes in.
