Julie Merriman - Carlisle Pier
In 2006 Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company supported by the Arts Council commissioned Julie Merriman to map changes and developments at Dún Laoghaire Harbour over the course of five years. This dvd marks the end of the residency and affords an opportunity to see how Julie’s work developed in response to this environment over the five year period. It focuses on the various series of drawings made in response to the site’s history, changing circumstances and how an artist’s work changes over time. The dvd was directed and produced by artist Michael McLoughlin.
The residency is part of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Arts Office Residency Programme which creates opportunities for artists from all disciplines to develop their own work and in so doing to engage with the broader community.
