How do I use the CRF?
There is a separate container or skip for each type of material at the CRF and all materials must be segregated. Wet or dirty material can contaminate other dry recyclables resulting in a whole load having to be disposed of in a residual landfill. Materials such as metals, wood and green waste can be recycled and reused if collected separately.
Large vans (e.g. transit vans) delivering bulky waste will not be allowed entry to the CRF without a Vehicle Permit. Further information regarding Permits is contained in the Ballyogan Vehicle Permit System (pdf -284kb) leaflet.
The CRF is for the use of private vehicles only, and only household waste can be accepted.
No commercial waste can be accepted at Ballyogan CRF in accordance with the terms of its EPA Licence W0015-01.
Points to Remember:
- Recyclables should be as clean and dry as possible;
- Rinse out all remaining foods and liquids;
- Flatten or squash boxes, cartons and cans;
- Remove all plastic packaging from cardboard and paper;
- Make sure the correct material is placed in each container.
