SANDYFORD LAND USE TRANSPORTATION STUDY (DRAFT)
The preparation of a Land Use & Transportation Study (LUTS) for Sandyford was commissioned by Dun Laoghaire- Rathdown County Council. The commission of the study follows significant growth in the Sandyford area over the past 10 years and recognised the need to provide for planned and proposed developments in the area.
This growth has brought with it a continued increase in the demand for transport, and although recent projects such as Luas, the M50 and various Quality Bus Corridors have greatly improved accessibility, a focus on improving such services is necessary if this growth is to be facilitated.
Study Objectives:-
(1) To address existing and expected traffic constraints in the area
(2) To develop a robust public transport strategy to support access
(3) To enhance pedestrian cycle connections
(4) To address road safety issues
(5) To more effectively manage parking provision within Sandyford
Particulars of the study are available for inspection from Monday 8th January, 2007 up to and including Friday 9th February, 2007 in the Concourse, County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire between the hours of 10.00 a.m and 4 p.m and in the Council Offices, Dundrum Office Park, Dundrum between the hours of 9.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m and 1.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
