Refuse Collection
Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council transferred the majority of its bin collection service to Panda Waste with effect from 9th August 2010. Any householder who experiences difficulties with their wheelie bin collection service should now contact Panda directly at 1850 62 62 62 or e-mail dlrinfo@panda.ie
The Council will continue to collect bagged household refuse and dry recyclable waste, and also bagged commercial refuse on existing urban routes. A charge will apply for the refuse collection system from the 1st February 2011.
Details of all companies permitted to provide household waste collection services in the Dublin area can be found on the following link to Dublin City Council's website.
Refuse Bags
Two different sizes of refuse sacks are available: a large 60 litre bag and a smaller 40 litre bag. The smaller bag option is provided to facilitate people who produce low volumes of general waste, such as lone occupants, pensioners etc.
The recycling collection will be undertaken using one size bag, provided to customers free of charge, when purchasing a general waste bag. If customers recycle more than they produce in general waste, there will be provision for charging a reduced rate for a recycling bag only.
The costs (including Vat) for refuse collection bags are as follows:
- 60 Litre (including free recycling bag) €4.50
- 40 Litre (including free recycling bag) €3.00
- Recycling bag €2.00
There is no annual standing charge for this refuse collection service.
