Road Sweeping Schedule

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council area is populated by approximately 194,000 people and covers a land area of approximately 12,731 hectares, consisting of 672km of roads. The responsibility of cleaning the roads and footpaths within the county is the responsibility of a 50 strong Cleansing Section, collecting approximately 2,500 tonnes of waste per year.

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Cleansing Section has reviewed its road sweeping schedule for the cleaning of all the roads within the County, making minor alterations to improve the efficiency of the service.  This schedule will allow residents to be aware of the proposed visit by a road sweeper to their particular area. To maximise the effectiveness of this sweeping, the assistance of the residents with the removal of their cars would be appreciated.

It is intended to sweep the majority of main traffic routes on a weekly or fortnightly basis and the majority of residential areas on a monthly basis.

Other services provided by the Cleansing Section include, cleaning gullies, servicing litter bins, manual sweeping in towns, removing illegally dumped material, cleaning laneways, car parks and bottle banks.

Any queries regarding illegal dumping or sweeping requests can be made by contacting the Environment Culture and Community Department on 01 205 4817, emailing environ@dlrcoco.ie or using the free phone litter line 1800 403 503.

Schedule By Estate

Click on the first letter of the estate on the homepage. All the estates beginning with that letter will then be listed alphabetically. The day and week of the road sweeping will be shown after the estate name, i.e. “Dornden Park, Monday, Week 1”.
