Cabinteely House

Image of Cabinteely HouseCabinteely House is an 18th century Demesne house set in parkland of 45 hectares.

While its refurbishment is on going, it is available for guided tours (by appointment) and corporate or community events.

Within the courtyards the Council has refurbished a former Grainstore that is now used for the promotion and development of Youth Arts in the County.

Marlay House

Image of Marlay HouseMr. David La Touche the then governor of the newly established Bank of Ireland built Marlay House c1794. 

The park comprises of some 85 hectares including woodlands, ponds, a range of recreational amenities, courtyards and walled gardens that are designed and planted in an authentic Regency style.

The house and gardens are open to tours daily in the summer months; at other times by appointment and teas/coffee are available in the former gardeners house.  In co-operation with FÁS, we also operate a horticultural training unit at Marlay.

Marlay Craft Centre

Marlay Craft CentreThere are a number of small craft industries located in the courtyard adjacent to Marlay House.


A range of crafts are exhibited including, weaving, glass cutting, bookbinding, furniture restoration, copper craft, pottery and embroidery.
