Permission for Monumental Work or Grave Transfer in the absence of next of kin form (pdf - 17kb)

If you want to transfer the ownership of a grave permission must be given from the owner of the grave. They must write and sign a letter stating:

  1. The grave number.
  2. The name and address of whom the grave is to be transferred.
  3. State that they are aware that they are relinquishing all burial rights to the said grave.
  4. There is a fee of €80 for this transfer.

If the owner of the grave is deceased a Derivative Assignment Declaration form must be signed and witnessed before a peace commissioner by the person who wishes to take over the grave. Letters from the respective next of kin of the owner may also be required in this case stating that they have no objection to the transfer.
