Graves are available for purchase in Shanganagh and Deansgrange Cemeteries at time of death through a Funeral Director.  Plots are selected by the Council in accordance with the next available in line. 

Shanganagh Cemetery is a relatively new cemetery and there is good capacity for burials. Plots are available in St. Helens section of Shanganagh at a cost of €2,700 each at time of death through a Funeral Director. A Reservation Scheme is in operation in Shanganagh Cemetery and under this scheme, residents of the County who are over 70 years of age may reserve a grave in the St. Helens section.

Deansgrange Cemetery has been a burial ground since 1865 and is at capacity.  There are therefore, only a limited number of plots available in “The Garden” at a cost of €16,000.

Once a year, the Council will pre sell a limited number of graves in “The Garden” plot at Deansgrange Cemetery.  The following criteria applies:

• Applicants must be residents of the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown administrative area.
• Applicants must be 70 years of age or over.
• Applicants will be placed on a waiting list and will be offered the opportunity to pre purchase a grave if their name is reached at the time of the pre sale.  The waiting list will be held into the following year if all applicants are not offered a grave.
• Applicants must pay the full cost (€16,000) of the grave at the time of purchase.
