The County
View of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is located on the east coast of Ireland, just south of Dublin city. The geography of the county ranges westwards from an extensive coastline, through suburban development to agricultural lands and upland areas of great natural beauty.

The administrative area of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown was established in 1994, following the amalgamation of Dún Laoghaire Borough and the south-eastern part of Dublin County Council. It has a population 194,038

The Libraries

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown has eight full-time branch libraries, serving the educational, recreational and information needs of the community. Total issues for 2010 were 1.3 million items. Current membership stands at 55,000.
