In 2006 DLR Arts and Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company supported by the Arts Council commissioned Julie Merriman to map changes and developments at Dún Laoghaire Harbour over the course of five years. Midway through the residency this is the first opportunity to view the artworks produced during the last two and a half years.
The residency sees a new departure in Julie's work with carbon drawings of the sea and poignant commemorative works inspired by her surroundings and the history of the harbour as well as her more recognisable exquisitely executed linear images of buildings and architectural environs.
The residency is part of DLR Arts Residency Programme which creates opportunities
for artists from all disciplines to develop their own work and in so doing
to engage with the broader community.
