Two main festivals are programmed annually in Dun Laoghaire.
POETRY NOW FESTIVAL
The
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Poetry Now Festival is one of the most prestigious
literary festival in Ireland. It is the only remaining Irish and International
festival devoted solely to poetry.
It has gained a considerable reputation for bringing together some of the
very best Irish and International poets writing today. Events over the weekend
consist of readings, master classes, children's events and two annual awards
The Irish Times Poetry Now
Award and the Rupert and
Eithne Strong Award for a young emerging Irish poet. The Curator of
DLR Poetry Now is Belinda McKeon.

IRISH YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL
This annual festival is a platform for National Youth Dance groups and also offers opportunities for young professional dance artists to showcase new work. It aims to raise the profile of Youth Dance in Ireland encouraging young talents to develop and grow in their artistic and personal pursuits. The festival is hosted by Dublin Youth Dance Company. The Artistic Director of DYDC is Mariam Ribon.
