Directed by Mariam Ribon and under the management of Catherine Farmer, Dublin Youth Dance Company present the 3rd Irish Youth Dance Festival in the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire on Sunday 30 th November. The festival in association with Dance World ®, will feature a number of newly commissioned pieces choreographed by both new and established figures in the Irish dance world. These include works by Mariam Ribon and Samantha Lyons as well as award- winning guest artist Lisa McLoughlin. The evening will also feature Daring Feet Youth Dance Company from Derry, The Irish National Youth Ballet, Wexford based Myriad Dance Company and Wexford Youth Dance Company, New Moon Youth Dance Company from Cork and WYD moves from Waterford.
The Festival promises to be an unforgettable evening, supporting and encouraging the artistic development of our young dance community.
Dublin Youth Dance Company is funded in part by the Arts Office of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Mariam Ribon is the current Artistic Director. The company has approximately 20 voluntary members ranging in age from 15-25 from all over Dublin. Many aspire to train and work as professional dancers. Other funding contributors include the Department of Arts Heritage and the Arts Council of Ireland.
