Dublin Youth Dance Company In 2010
Dublin Youth Dance Company (DYDC) has just launched its 2010 programme of events which includes a range of activities from performances, workshops and hosting the Irish Youth Dance Festival, to a cultural exchange with the Czech Republic and a new transition-year dance project. An overview of 2010 activities includes:
- Every Sunday: Weekly classes and rehearsals held in Dun Laoghaire
- March 17th: Participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin
- March 19th: Dublin Youth Dance Company’s dancers featuring in Fearghus O'Conchuir ’s dance work “Open Nice” at the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire
- March 29th: Invited to perform at the Art-Youth-Culture event hosted by the Arts Council
- April 8th: Invited to performance at the Longford Dance Festival
- April 25th : Invited to perform at Noisemoves – Youth Dance Festival at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght
- June 26th & 27th: Hosting the 10 th Irish Youth Dance Festival, Pavilion Theatre, Atelier Festival, Dance Theatre of Ireland’s Centre
- September 2010: Commencement of Transition Dance Project, Rockford Manor Secondary School
- September 2010: Auditions for new members
- September 2010: Official establishment of Junior section of Dublin Youth Dance Company, (12-15 yrs)
- Autumn 2010: Cultural exchange to the Czech Republic
- December 2010: Open House at Dance Theatre of Ireland’s Centre
